It All Began With An Idea...

The Creative Connections Campaign which helped to fund the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness (Generations Center) sprouted from the Senior Services Aging with Purpose Pilot. As we began to see the magic happening when we brought people of different ages together, especially the very young and the older, the need to build on that became obvious. Also, in response to the needs identified through our community-wide survey in 2017, creating something like the Generations Center just made sense.

Initial conversations began in 2017 with just two potential collaborators, the Sawtooth School for Visual Art and Family Services (Child Development). From those conversations, excitement continued to build and we find ourselves today with an unprecedented twenty-one organizations engaged in this one-of-a-kind collaborative venture.

We believe the Generations Center will set a new standard for how a community can support its older citizens, and also, how a broad group of organizations, large and small, can truly work together to support people to live their best lives. We thank each of you for joining us on this exciting journey!
