We understand that caring for a loved one can be overwhelming, so we’ve developed Caregiver Confidence workshops to provide helpful tips and techniques. Our Caregiver Confidence program was designed specifically to help support family caregivers with the tools, resources, and training to be more confident as a new caregiver.
The Caregiver Confidence program will help caregivers on many levels. Caregivers will receive customized training to care for their loved ones. Examples of topics include organizing medical information, home safety, fall prevention, caring for yourself, safe transfers in and out of bed/chair, preventing bed sores, managing incontinence, and much more. The workshops are offered in two parts, free of charge. Part 1 will be offered on Tuesday, February 20th at 10:00 AM at the Generations Center in classroom 209. Part 2 will be held at Trellis Supportive Care on Wednesday, February 28th at 9:00 AM in the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home Multipurpose Room. Lunch will be provided and both classes are free to the public. To register, send an email to caregiverconfidence@trellissupport.org or call LaPorche Quick at 336-408-9217.
