Alebrijes Workshop

April 15 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Event Series Event Series (See All)
Free

In this class we will learn the basics of fabric applique, including simple embroidery and working with decorative sewing.  Students will make a stitched animal portrait based on Alebrijes (spirit guides depicted in Mexican folk art as brightly colored sculptures of fantastical creatures.) The bright colors and intense patterns of Alebrijes make these fabric versions a lot of fun to embroider, using colorful thread, beads and sequins.
